The seventh season of "Selling Sunset" has stirred up a debate revolving around the words "Social climber," which touches upon the agents' insecurities concerning their jobs and if their success were rightfully earned.

Issues arise at Chelsea Lazkani's thirty-year-old masquerade-style birthday celebration. At the party, she informs Emma Hernan that their co-agent, Nicole Young, had labeled her as a ‘social climber’.

According to Merriam-Webster, the phrase is defined as “(an individual) who tries to elevate their social standing or be accepted in fashionable circles.” The female stars of “Selling Sunset” have been leveled with this charge.

Emma confronts Nicole at the party, which results in a loud argument along with Chrishell Stause, a fellow agent.

Chelsea has a feeling as to why the "social climber" comment caused such a commotion.

"It's so damaging for many reasons," she says. "As a woman in business, being that we have to work exponentially harder just to be seen and be in certain rooms, when we've attained a level of success to be called that."

She mentioned that she and her co-stars had sympathy for Emma.

"We know her. We know her heart. We know her hustle. We know how hard she works. Everybody does. Why take that from another woman?"

Even though there is a lot of conflict in the show, the mother of two puts her energy into real estate instead of feuds.

"That saying if it doesn't make money, it doesn't make sense. That's kind of how I feel about everything," Chelsea says. "Drama-wise. I'm like, OK, you know, is what it is, moving on. Where's the next deal out? That's what I'm really concerned about."
