Breaking News over 24-hr Period

Hunter Biden, the son of President Joe Biden, is being indicted by special counsel David Weiss, over a gun that he bought in 2018 - a first in the history of the United States of America. Three different criminal charges have been brought against Hunter - two for giving false statements while acquiring the gun and another for having a gun while addicted to drugs.

Hunter’s gun-related troubles began in October 2018, when he purchased a revolver from a gun store in Delaware. His mistake was allegedly mistrustful on a federal form that he was not using nor addicted to illegal drugs, even though he was dealing with a crack cocaine addiction at the time.

On Thursday, a federal grand jury in Delaware submitted a three-count indictment, as shown in court filings:

  • Count One charges Hunter with lying on an ATF form when purchasing the gun, by denying that he was addicted or using illegal drugs.
  • Count Two charges Hunter with lying to the licensed gun dealer in Wilmington where he purchased the gun. The alleged lie was related to the same ATF form.
  • Count Three charges Hunter with a federal crime for having a gun for 11 days in 2018 while consuming drugs or being addicted to drugs.

It was reported that Hunter Biden had intended to make a deal with Weiss to settle the matter without charges, however the agreement fell through due to a federal judge's investigation and the collapse of a related tax arrangement. However, if convicted on all three chargers, Hunter could face up to 25-years in prison with a fine up to $750,000.

On Twitter there seems to be a lot of debate and controversy over Hunter’s gun charges,  most of which I could hardly make out, but it appears that not many were in favor of Hunter’s actions, claiming injustice for the other crimes he have ‘committed’ and 'cover up'.
