Campus Hard or Feature News

The University of Arkansas in Little Rock, AR, has unveiled a new campus safety app, called the Trojan Campus Safety. It is the officially sanctioned app of the university, linking up with the school's safety and security systems.

The Student Government Association of UALR (SGA) was greatly influential in the bringing of the safety app to the UA Little Rock campus. Students, faculty, and staff can download the app free of charge from the Apple App and Google Play stores.

The app will alert you of any safety-related issues and offer you immediate access to campus safety materials.

The app offers a range of useful tools to protect the campus community, such as access to the university's emergency plans, maps, support resources, the option to store emergency contacts, and the choice to share routes with the Department of Public Safety

Through the app, a virtual escort service offers students the opportunity to be monitored by campus police as they move from place to place. Additionally, students are able to communicate with campus police via text, including pictures and videos if they are in a situation where they cannot speak.

The Trojan Campus Safety App features include:
  • Emergency Contacts: In the event of an emergency or a non-emergency issue in the University of Arkansas at Little Rock area, contact the relevant services.
  • Panic Button (Mobile Bluelight): Give UA Little Rock security your current location in real-time in the event of an emergency.
  • Friend Walk: You can share your whereabouts with a friend via email or SMS on your device. Once your friend grants permission, select the destination you're heading to, and your buddy can track your movements in real-time - ensuring you get to your destination safely.
  • Crime Mapping: Look into the most recent criminal offenses that have happened on and around college grounds.
  • Safety Notifications: Get immediate alerts and directives from UA at Little Rock safety in the event of on-campus emergencies.
